2. Is the use and rental of buggy mandatory when playing golf in Malaysia?
Yes, nearly all courses require the use and rental of their buggies. The rental rates differ in each respective golf courses.
3. Are caddies available and is it mandatory to use them?
Yes, caddies are available, especially at the more popular courses. They are well-trained and are good green readers. Tipping is mandatory, i.e around 5~10 US dollars.
4. What are the golf etiquettes and attires when playing golf in Malaysia?
Golf etiquettes are the same the world over and so are the rules as to wearing
the right golfing attire, i.e with collar t-shirts, knee-length shorts or long pants, proper golf shoes.
5. Do you cater for a single player without a handicap card? Can I still have a golfing holiday in Malaysia?
Yes, we do cater for a single golfer without handicap for a golfing holiday in Malaysia. There are a limited number of golf courses that you can still play.
6. We are beginners. Can we still have a golfing holiday in Malaysia?
Yes, we can arrange for you to play in some courses especially on those that are not crowded in the weekdays. However, there must be at least one experienced golfer to play alongside, so as to guide you and to avoid slow play. If you don't have an experienced golfer, we can arrange one for you. 7. Can I buy golf sets, shoes, or other equipment in Malaysia?
Yes, buying golf sets or any other equipment could be cheaper here than buying in your country. The latest golf equipment is available. Make sure you buy only from legitimate shops. Price bargaining is acceptable practice in Malaysia.
8. What are your acceptable payment options?
We accept (i) PayPal - send money to our account at "golf@golftripmalaysia.com" or we send you an email payment request link for online credit card payment, (ii) Wire T/T transfer to MAYBANK 'Golf Trip Asia - Act# 514011008101' - Swift code 'MBBEMYKL', or (iii) Western Union. On certain cases, we do accept pickup money arrangement at the airport or your hotel on request.
9. Is your rate cheaper compare to direct booking at the golf courses in Malaysia?
Yes, but only minimal differences and it does not apply to all golf courses. We do not service golf booking only. We package our tour as a whole including golf, transfers/transports and/or hotels stay.
10. What should i bring to the golf course?
A golf set, shoe, tees, marker, cap, balls, sun-tan lotion, sunglasses, face towel, mineral water and a new set of clothing to change after game and shower. You will be provided a towel for shower and a locker to keep all your personal belongings. It is however advisable not to bring valuable/expensive items to the clubhouse. You may also purchase the above mentioned items at the club's pro-shop if you do not have them.
11. Do you have golf sets for rental?
Yes, we have golf sets for rental at affordable price should you require one. Sets available are for eg. McGregor steel semi-pro blade set, Nike graphite semi-pro blade set, Taylor Made graphite semi-pro blade set, etc. Just let us know if you require specific brand of golf sets.

CLIMATE & SEASONS
Malaysia
has a tropical climate with temperatures normally range from 21°C (70°F) to about 35°C (95°F). At higher
altitudes (mountainous areas) these temperatures can be much cooler. Occasional rain during the period between Oct~Feb. Humidity
in the heaviest during December and January, and is generally
between 75% and 100%. The ideal tee off time is at around 7am in the morning or 2pm in the afternoon. It enables you to avoid
the hottest part of the day between 11am and 1pm. Golfers are advised to wear light cotton fabrics and a visor or a hat, or they
may even carry an umbrella during the hottest part of the day, while the use of
a sun block lotion is preferred for those golfers with sensitive skins. Drinking of enough water or salt replacements is a necessity during the dry
season. Golfers who are not so crazy about too much sun are better off playing
during the morning hours or in the afternoon.
FOOD & DRINKS
The staple food of most Malaysians is rice. Vegetables, fish
and meat is abundant and of great variety, especially in the clubhouse
restaurant or in the restaurant of the hotel you're staying at. It is not
advisable to eat anything from a hawker / street-side shop.From a hawker / street-side shop, drink only
the so called Aqua (mineral water) and only when the seal is intact.
RELIGION
An estimated 60% of Malaysians are Muslims, 25% Chinese, 10%
Indians, and 5% others. Giving or receiving with the left hand is considered to
be impolite, while touching of heads is absolutely out of the question.
LANGUAGE
Bahasa Malaysia
is the national language, but English is widely spoken and certainly on the
golf course as well as in hotels and in the better shopping areas. It is wise
to travel with a guide, who can be of great help to you when it comes to
negotiating prices at markets. Malaysian traders love negotiating, so don't be
shy.

information on tourist attractions, cultural events, restaurants, museums and
shopping malls. They're happy to help you at anytime.
ART & CULTURE
Malaysia
is rich in Art & Culture. From graceful court and temple dances and
boisterous play, the performing arts of Malaysia offer an astounding range
of types and styles for the visitor to study or enjoy, reflecting, as they do,
the soul and traditions of the various ethnic groups who support them. Wayang Kulit(the famous shadow puppet play), a
world of wonders is opening up to you in its entire mystical splendor.
IMMIGRATION & VISAS
All visitors traveling to Malaysia must be in possession of a
passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and have proof
of onward passage. Check with your local travel agent whether a visa is
required, which in most cases is available upon arrival and valid for 30 days
(a so called visa-on-arrival).
TIPPING
Major hotels and restaurants usually add 10% service charge
to bills. Where it is not included, a tip of between 5 to 10% of the bill is
much appreciated, if the service is satisfactory that is. Tipping a taxi driver
is not mandatory. Hired-car drivers normally get a larger tip.
BANKING & SHOPPING HOURS
Normal banking hours are between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm. Most
banks are closed on Saturday and surely on Sunday. Most banks have ATM machines
from which you are able to get money with your (home) bank card. Cash money can
always be changed at the money changer. Most western currencies are accepted.
Credit cards are only accepted in the places where indicated like in all of the
major hotels, restaurants and shopping malls.
Shopping hours are between 9.00 am and 10.00 pm and shopping malls are open 7
days a week, including on Sunday.
Bargaining is customary in small shops and markets but not in the shopping
malls.
